Program Components/Benefits:
Prevention services are offered with a harm reduction approach that recognizes the challenges that many marginalized groups face in accessing care and prevention resources.
- The Center referrals typically include:
- Primary care interventions
- Substance abuse treatment
- Housing
- Mental health counseling
- Other community resources
The Center also strives to assist members with basic needs, such as food, clothing and personal care items. Since many of the Center's members are homeless or living in poverty, the provision of these humanitarian supports helps remove barriers to care and promotes readiness for change toward healthier living.
The Center receives on-going support from various local businesses and individuals in its efforts to impact those in our local community living in poverty. Annually the Center receives about 7,000 visits by over 400 individuals.
